tatata5 from HASSHIKI will take part in Simulacra Process Live, held at Oriental Force on June 28.

This event is a release party for Simulacra Process, a concept album based on a painting by kyklopsketch. tatata5 contributed one solo track to the album, as well as a collaborative piece created by the participating artists.

For the collaborative track, kyklopsketch’s painting was divided into multiple layers, with each of the seven musicians assigned to a different fragment. Without listening to the sounds created by the other participants, each artist performed and recorded their part by tracing their assigned section of the painting, with the horizontal axis of the image treated as a ten-minute timeline.

This method draws on the Surrealist technique known as the “exquisite corpse.” Multiple creators make their own parts without knowing what the others are creating, and the fragments are later combined into a single work. Through this process, a structure emerges that goes beyond the intentions of any individual participant.

It is a release event for an experimental concept album where painting, music, time, and chance intersect.
