HASSHIKI artist Ryuta Tomiyama created the music video for “017,” a track from HIDA ONKYO HA’s third album, Pink to Cyan.
HIDA ONKYO HA is a duo formed by Tomofumi Tanizawa and Yuki Mitani, centered around completely improvised performances with no prearranged material. Pink to Cyan, released in August 2026, is the third installment in their “Color to Color” series, constructed from recordings of improvised live performances captured at various locations. “017” is the album’s final track.
An approximately eight-and-a-half-minute film in which the two members of HIDA ONKYO HA take control of time through sound.
CG, AI-generated imagery, and live-action footage intertwine, evoking billions of years of life — from its emergence and the development of multicellular organisms, through the Cambrian explosion, and onward toward the ancestors of humanity.
While filming the sky, a dragonfly happened to land on the camera.
A trace of life stretching back some 300 million years, to the Paleozoic era, slips unexpectedly into the present-day sky.
