Z_hyper is an active modular synth live performer in Japan. In their live sets, they begin from a completely unpatched system and build up sounds in real time—layering what they imagine in the moment—using a “Patch Scratch” style approach. In recent years, they have focused on minimizing changes to their modular setup, training daily to adapt a single system to a wide range of event genres, and performing live more than 50 times a year.
